Crispy Baked Tofu
I would say I am a tofu fan, but make this tofu and I become a tofu fanatic. This tofu just made my top tofu recipe list! It is oil-free and made with only 5 simple ingredients. You can always add more flavors and spices to give it a twist. I love this tofu plain, in salads, burritos, and in buddha bowls.
Ingredients:
1 block extra firm tofu
1/4 cup nutritional yeast
1/4 cup almond flour
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 garlic powder
salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
Start by removing excess water from tofu. You can use a tofu press such as this one or place heavy objects on top to provide pressure. This is optional if you don’t have the time.
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees
In a medium-sized bowl, combine nutritional yeast, almond flour, paprika, and spices
Slice the tofu into 1/2 to 1-inch cubes and toss in the breading mix
Toss the tofu around until every side is evenly coated
Place the tofu on a parchment-lined baking sheet evenly spread apart
Bake for 20 minutes then flip
Bake for another 10 minutes or until at your desired golden color and crispiness
Serve with your favorite meal or just snack on plain!
