Florida Vacay
There was no vegan food tour, extravagant road trip, camping on the beach, or alligator wrestling. This was a trip to get away from the hustle and bustle of school, work, and the cold weather. And I was successful. I was thinking about completely shutting off from social media, my channel, and even technology for the trip. But that would mean shutting off from you guys + what I love most, creating.
Creating content such as food, recipes, artful videos, vlogs, moments from my life, etc, brings me joy + so much happiness. My content gives me an outlet + I am so thankful I get to live through my journey sharing my passions through creativity. That's why I decided to continue to make my videos, post on the 'gram, + write blog posts all week long just as normal. The goal wasn't to get away from my work, because to be honest, my "work" almost never feels like work-that's the best part about it. So in essence, this trip wasn't a vacation from my passions, it was a vacation from the work I don't like to do ;)
So basically everyday consisted of sleeping in, going to the pool, farmer's market, the beach, + biking/skateboarding around. Can't get much better than that. Oh wait it does...
I was able to film everyday, take some awesome pictures (as seen everywhere in this blog post ;), + eat so much good food. All home cooked because why not when there is so much fresh fruit + veggies available all year round! Lots of watermelon, berries, potatoes, corn, + vegan ice cream was consumed :)
I also visited an Everglades wildlife center where they rescue + rehabilitate animals. Got lots of awesome pictures from that. Say hello to a new wildlife photographer...jk...but actually love photographing animals. Check out this blog post to see all the photos + read what they are all about!
As I said above there was a lot of skating around on my Penny Board(s). Funny story actually, I went to the local Goodwill down there just to see what deals + steals I could find. Boy did I luck out! I found a Penny Board in great condition! Was marked at $14.99 but since I'm a student, I was able to snag it for $12. I mean come on! That's a good freaking deal! This is exactly why everyone needs to start thrifting!
So overall had such a great time! I am happy to be home now to get back to my routines + get organized again. If you want to watch some videos from this trip, they are below!
