Marinade For Tofu or Tempeh
This is one of my go to marinades! It is seriously so easy and tastes AMAZING. It's incredible how much flavor this marinade gives the tofu/tempeh! Easily changed up with herbs or spices! I like it in stir-fries or baked. Also very easy to double or make less.
Ingredients:
- One package of tempeh or tofu, chopped
- 3 tbs soy sauce, tamari, or braggs
- 2 tbs maple syrup or agave
- 1 tbs ketchup (trust me)
- 1 tsp sriracha or other hot sauce (feel free to adjust to your spice level)
- 1 tbs mustard (optional)
- 1 tbs lemon or lime juice (optional)
Directions:
- In a small bowl combine all of the marinade ingredients
- Chop up the tempeh into small chunks or strips
- Let sit in the bowl for 10-20 minutes at room temperature, stirring occasionally
- Heat up a wok or preheat the oven to 350
- If stir-frying make sure the pan is non stick and at medium-high heat
- If baking place parchment paper on a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes, flipping once
- When in a pan make sure you stir in every couple minutes to make sure nothing sticks
- Serve warm with rice or noodles and veggies
- Enjoy responsibly, its addicting!
